Thurs. 26th: Ragozin's visit remembered

On Thursday 26th January at 7:45 pm Ches Clifton will be visiting the club to talk informally about his memories and memorabilia of the simul played at the Pavilion Buildings by Russian grandmaster Vyacheslav Ragozin on 29th December 1955 against twenty members of the Brighton Chess Club. Ragozin was a close friend and trainer of Mikhail Botvinnik. Ches Clifton was the organiser of the event and also the winner of the West Sussex Queen in the same year. Brian Denman, who has memories of some of the participants, will also be coming along so join us to see cuttings and photographs of the event.
